Nathan Jackson Obituary

Visit the Gabriel D Glover Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

Nathan Lamonz Jackson was born on November 4, 1965 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He was the first of four children born to the Union of the Late Bishop Nathan R. Jackson and Ethel M. Jackson. He was raised as a member of the Elizabeth Deliverance Tabernacle (EDT) Church family and played the saxophone in his teenage years in the EDT Band.

Nathan received his formal education in the Elizabeth Public School System.  After graduating he joined the United States Army in 1985 and later was honorably discharged.

Nathan was protective of his family. He was intelligent and someone to deal with, if he felt that you crossed the line of mutual respect.  Nathan was the life of the party and was comically inclined to have you laughing in stitches with a towel on his shoulder and an afro pick in his hair. He loved to play cards and considered himself to be a “Spades-Ologist”.  Nathan loved to eat, listen to house music, dance and be heard.

Nathan liked to gather with family & friends, talk on the phone and watch movies.  He was a good-hearted person who would assist in any way that he could.  Nathan also known as “Nate” and “Sal” - was very sociable, funny and liked joking around (sometimes too much), but you had to love him.  Nathan made game night at the Daniels’ home, a night filled with competition, excitement and aggressive debates. To know Nate, was to love him and we truly miss him.  We will always carry him in our heart. Always loved, Always remembered and Never Forgotten!

Nathan departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025 he is preceded in death by his son: Tyresse “Cheeks” Smith and Father: Bishop Nathan R. Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Mother; Ethel M. Jackson, one daughter; Fredrica Monique Jackson also known as: “Fremo”, Life Partner; Angie Townes, Sisters; Rose Reeves (husband Thomas), Fredrica Daniels (husband Ellis), Monique Jackson-Washington (husband Booker), Brother; Donovan Jackson, God Brothers; Shawn Leonard (wife Dawn) & Charles Elliott Batts; God Sisters; Natasha L. Rogers & Nina Rogers and a host of Aunts, one Uncle, Nephews / Great Nephews, cousins and other loving relatives & friends.
