Nathan “Zubes” Leon Zaruba, age 47, a resident of Saint Germain, WI, unexpectedly passed away November 14, 2025. He was born in Rhinelander, WI, January 13, 1978, to parents Cheryl Zaruba and Steven Slizewski. He attended D.C. Everest High School in Wausau, WI.
Nathan worked at Camp’s Fresh Market in Saint Germain. He attended Northlife Church in Saint Germain and La Mesa Church in Mesa, AZ, every Wednesday he would help serve meals to the homeless when he spent time in Arizona. He enjoyed woodworking, and target practice. He was always helping everyone. He played the guitar and drums and enjoyed building guitars and amplifiers. He loved fishing with Grandpa.
Nathan is survived by his mother: Cheryl (Dr. Tom Porter) Gilles, of Tempe, AZ; step-father: John Gilles, of Chandler, AZ; half-sister: Mallary Gilles, of Florence, AZ; half-brother: Joseph Slizewski, of Greenville, WI; uncles: Frank (Dawn) Zaruba, of Appleton, WI, Mark (Jill) Zaruba, of Muskego, WI, Shane (Laurie) Zaruba, of Sayner, WI, Thomas Dreger, of Eagle River, WI; aunts: Georgia Brassard, of Sun Prairie, WI, Shelia Brassard, of Somonauk, IL; nephew: Landon Nygard, of Florence, AZ; great aunt: Janet (Bernie) Kazda, of Saint Germain, WI; closest friend: Nathan Wheeler, of Wausau, WI; many friends, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father: Steven Slizewski; grandparents: Leon and Delores Zaruba; uncles: Jerry Brassard, Timothy Brassard; aunt: Donene Dreger.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Northlife Church in Saint Germain, WI, at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am.
