Nathaniel “Bud’ Matthew Taylor, age 79 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on February 28, 1944 the son of Luther and Bethena (Vanover) Taylor. Bud drove a tractor and trailer for about 25 years, where he enjoyed traveling the country and seeing the world. He then opened up his own car lot, Bud’s Auto Sales, in McCreary County almost 30 years. He loved talking to people about cars and really loved to buy and sale classic cars. The favorite classic car of his was a 1938 Chevy Coupe. Going to the lake and playing poker were what he enjoyed but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandbabies and great grandbabies.
His parents; a son, Michael Matthew Taylor; brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Carl Taylor and sister, Desil Douglas precede him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Vela Crabtree and husband, Everett of Fort Pierce, Florida; step-daughter, Sheila Dawson and husband, Jim of Kansas that he raised from birth; grandchildren, Casey, Justin, Tiffany, Kasandra, Ashley, Kendra, Savannah, Jerry, Lainie, Michael, and Gene; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, January 19, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Keith McKim officiating. Burial to follow in the Higginbotham Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
