St. Petersburg, Florida, he moved with family to
Rochester, New York and graduated from Franklin High School. He attended Ithaca College in 1963 where he played multiple sports (Football, Basketball and Baseball). After college, he joined the Rochester City School District and started his career as Physical Education teacher and coaching boys' varsity Football/Basketball at Madison High School.
While working full time, he obtained his Master's degree from Brockport University and retired as Principal after 30 years of service. During retirement, he worked briefly for the School District evaluating new teachers and providing mentorship.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with friends/family, listening to music and continued his love of sports serving as Head Coach for Irondequoit Vikings Youth Football and basketball teams. He was a die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers and Buffalo Bills fan.
