PRINCETON – Nawasa Maxine Minnix, 96, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Born June 4, 1928 in Montcalm, she was the daughter of the late James Matthew Beggs and Arlie Eureka Woods Beggs.
Nawasa worked as an X-ray technician in Delaware and volunteered at the Princeton Community Hospital. In 1962, she received her pilot's license for small engine planes. She was a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful volunteer in their church kitchen, food pantry ministry, clothes closet and Christmas toy program. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and canning. She was a wonderful cook who made not only traditional country meals, but also new recipes from one of her several cookbooks or cooking shows. She enjoyed listening to old gospel music and shopping not only for herself, but buying gifts for others. Her favorite holiday was Christmas; even celebrating Christmas in July before.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Harry Minnix; son, Roger Dale Minnix; four brothers; and six sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Tara Minnix Harmon and husband, Eddie of Princeton; grandsons, Dale Anthony Minnix and wife Sheila of Plainfield, IN, and Owen James Harmon of Princeton; great-grandson, Jeffrey Dale Minnix and wife Danielle; great-granddaughter, Jenna Nicole Minnix, all of Plainfield, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside prayer was given by Rev. Ed Pettus on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton.
