Cornelius "Neal" John Berter, passed away March 26, 2025. Neal was born to Thomas and Genevieve (Moore) Berter on July 24,1940.
Neal is survived by his younger brother David (Karen) Berter. He was preceded in death by his sister Jinny (Bud) Roll and his brothers Richard (Nancy), Robert (Jennie May), Thomas (Iva), Donald (Joann), Jerry and infant brothers William and John. Neal had 21 nieces and nephews and many more great nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed being with and was very proud of.
Neal was a very proud member of the USA Army, where he served in Germany during the Vietnam War. In recent years, he participated in a Veteran air flight to Washington.
Neal attended St. Bernard High School and worked for the Cincinnati Park Board for over 30 years. Inspired by John Kennedy during his military service, Neal was a lifelong democrat. Neal was very interested in current events and an avid student of Civil War history.
Neal was active member of the St. Bernard Historical Society and is the president and an honor roll member of the Greater Cincinnati Amateur Radio Association.
Neal loved being involved with his extensive family and friends his presence will be missed. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2155 Compton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 860 Dolwick Dr, Erlanger, KY 41018. Special condolences may be expressed at frederickfh.com
