Neal Horwedel Obituary
Neal K. Horwedel, age 54 of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Vermont, Illinois, passed away at 11:04 pm on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was born on February 10, 1969 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of George and Shirley (Roddis) Horwedel. He married Misty Yelton on June 5, 2013 in Hawaii. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Emily, Hannah and Kadie Horwedel, grandson Barrett Stoneking, mother Shirley Horwedel, sister Georgia Cassidy and three brothers, Mark (and Kathy) Horwedel, Craig (and Diane) Horwedel and Lance (and Debby) Horwedel.
Neal was preceded in death by his father.
He was a graduate of VIT High School and Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.
Neal worked as a Safety Manager in the construction field, last working at Sivyer Steel Castings in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He was passionate about fantasy football, the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Jets and the Philadelphia 76ers. When he wasn't posting or arguing on Facebook, he was listening to the greatest rock band in the world, The Rolling Stones.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 11:00 am at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, Illinois. Pastor Matthew Thiner will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery, Ipava, Illinois. Memorials in Neal's memory may be made to the Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad or the Arizona Boston Terrier Rescue
