Ned Audette Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 1, 2025.
Ned H. Audette, age 72, of Millsboro, DE, and formerly from Upstate New York, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with his devoted wife Elisa by his side.
Born on August 17, 1952, Ned was the son of the late George and Janet (Bottum) Audette. A man of compassion and deep warmth, he was known for his friendly smile, his creative spirit, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
Ned began his early years working for several companies, bringing a sense of humor, dedication, and strong work ethic to every project. Later in life, he returned to school and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from the College of St. Rose in Albany NY, where he also met the love of his life, Elisa. Though his original plan was to become an English teacher, life had other ideas. Ned eventually found himself in the world of Information Technology-a path he stumbled upon but quickly came to love.
His true creative outlet was photography. Ned had a keen eye for beauty in the everyday and expressed that talent through his nature and bird photography. It thrilled Ned when he started sharing and selling his work through an online photographers' website, in local shops in the beach area, and through word of mouth.
He was an adventurer at heart, drawn to the water, the mountains, and the quiet of the natural world. Ned found comfort and enjoyment in a simple life – he loved ping-pong games with his wife, listening to music from his extensive CD collection, walking his dogs, and sitting on the beach. He also had a voracious sweet tooth, a special fondness for Elisa's baked goods, and a very special love for dogs. He gave a home – and his heart – to many dogs over the years.
Ned deeply valued his lifelong friendships, nurturing them with care and warmth. His love for his family was fierce and unconditional. His relationships with his grandchildren brought him intense joy.
Ned is survived by his loving wife, Elisa Audette; his cherished grandchildren: Danika, Jadyn, and Jaymz Audette; his brother Dan Audette (Kristi); nieces Tara Piazza (Peter), Jennifer Audette, and Emily Audette; his beloved dog Gordy; and many dear cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved son James Audette, his sister Kathy, and his brother Michael. Not only will he be reunited with his family, but he will also be welcomed by his treasured dogs-Janey, Joely, Kira, Gilbert, and Clancy-who surely greeted him with wagging tails and joyful barks.
A gathering to celebrate Ned's life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 6pm at the Homestead Community Clubhouse, 29977 Plantation Drive, Millsboro DE.
An additional celebration may be held in Glens Falls, NY at a later date.

Ned and I were in high school together but I never knew him well then. It wasn´t until Boomer Fest that we got to know one another better. He was a wonderful friend with a wicked sense of humour and a heart of gold. He was an amazing photographer with a natural eye. His photos were worthy of National Geographic. I will miss him dearly. My heartfelt condolences to his family and Gordy.

Ned and I shared home room throughout most of our early academic years. He had a great sense of humor.. always with a smile.. I never met anyone who didn´t like being around Ned.
For whatever reason.. we were both spelling nerds.. pretty sure he won some championships.. but we shared a bond regarding the written word. And joked about it years later.
A genuinely good man, a privilege to have called him a friend.
Sincere condolences to his family.. he will be missed
