Ned Pruitt Sr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 56.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Both events will take place at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC. Burial will follow the service at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville, NC.
He was born on February 19, 1969, in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late Raymond and Shirley Pruitt.
Ned began his journey through life surrounded by the warmth of his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Matherly; brothers, Wesley Pruitt, Raymond Pruitt Jr.; and sister, Patricia Pruitt. These connections shaped Ned’s character, instilling in him a profound appreciation for family and friendship.
Throughout his life, Ned was known for his infectious spirit. His joy was frequently expressed through his hobbies and interests, particularly his love for watching NASCAR races, where he passionately cheered for his favorite drivers, including Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Larson. An enthusiastic wrestling fan, he enjoyed WWE events, with a special admiration for the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Ned’s talents were matched only by his love for worship, and he found great joy in singing. Known as a big jokester, he had an innate ability to make everyone laugh and brighten even the dullest of days. His humor and love for life were an integral part of his personality, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mildred Pruitt; son, Ned Pruitt Jr.; daughter, Jessica Pruitt Buzzell; brother, Doug Pruitt Sr.; sister, Barbara Ann Denny; and nephew, Wayne Denny, all of whom will cherish the moments spent with him.
As we remember Ned Pruitt Sr., let us celebrate his life and the many ways he touched our hearts. His laughter will echo in our memories, and his love will remain a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
