Neil Allen Depugh, age 81, of Mount Sterling, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.
He was born on November 13, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Charles Lee and Norabelle Louise (Hays) Depugh. He was a 1961 graduate of Madison Mills High School. On February 26, 1961, he eloped to Rushville, Indiana to marry the love of his life, Harriette (Butcher) Depugh. Neil was a highly skilled carpenter, millwright, and farmer. He turned his life over to Jesus Christ in 1980 and was a faithful member at the Mount Sterling Nazarene Church. Neil enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never knew a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Rodger (Joyce) Depugh; sister-in-law, Louise Depugh; brother-in-law, Chuck Hughes; son-in-law, Scott Daniel; grandchildren, Douglas Depugh, Ethan Depugh, and Brayleigh Darden; and his father and mother-in-law, Lloyd "Jack" and Pauline (Mills) Butcher.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Harriette Depugh; children, Kathy Darden (Chris), Michael (Daphne) Depugh, Cindy Daniel, Cheryl (Depugh) Ford (Brad Helsel), and Kristi (Patrick) Hyer; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Nancy) Depugh and Karen (Depugh) Sowers; sister-in-law, Diana Hughes; and brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Molly) Butcher. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, along with special friends, Josh and Tiffany Braithwaite, Ryan Ridenour, and Chad Depugh.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Sterling Nazarene Church, 226 N. Market St., Mount Sterling, OH 43143, with Billy Warner officiating with burial to follow at the Range Township Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
