Neil David Gieseke, age 71, passed away on September 10, 2025, at Mercy Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
He was born on August 18, 1954, the son of Vernon and Helen (Miller) Gieseke. On September 20, 1980, he married Linda (Dollman) Gieseke, and together they dairy farmed in Marengo.
Neil was a retired dairy farmer. He was the recipient of the Illinois State Farmer Degree in 1972 and served as President of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association for 13 years. He was also a Past President for the Marengo Jaycees and past member of the McHenry County A.S.C.S. Committee. He received an Associate Degree from McHenry County College. At Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo, he was an usher and dedicated member.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, son Matthew of South Carolina, as well as his brothers Ronald (Dolly) Gieseke and Robert (Virginia) Gieseke and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Helen.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 Jackson Street, Marengo, Illinois from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17th and will continue on Thursday, September 18th from 10 am until the 11:00 am funeral service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
