Today, for some reason, I was thinking about my childhood dentist, Dr. Sternberg. I am saddened to see that he has passed but so grateful that he lived and gave so much. I moved to Carrollton, TX in 1978 and found I needed dental surgery just weeks before my wedding. I called the practice in NYC and Dr. Goldfarb told me I should have Dr. Sternberg do my surgery. It was so good to be in trusted hands! He gave me his card, with a quarter taped to it "from The Tooth Fairy". Blessings to his family and friends for your loss. Celebrate his life always. I shared space with Neil at 1716 2nd Ave in Yorkville. I purchased his Dads small crown and bridge dental lab. We where friends for years, I am saddened and shocked to hear of his passing. I just thought about him and googled his number and the information on his death appeared. He was a fine individual and a generous lovely person to me. I am so sad

Neil and I were classmates at Creston Junior High School in the "old" Bronx, New York, from about 1945 to 1947. Many of the Creston graduates went on to the DeWitt Clinton High School also in the Bronx. We then pursued our own lives for decades, he to become a dentist moving his practice to Texas and I to begin a career teaching science at the university level in New York. About 17 years ago Neil had the ingenious idea of organizing a reunion of Creston alumni from the graduating class of 1947, and many of us were able to meet in a restaurant on the west side of Manhattan, and briefly, to relive old times. For some years since then, many of the Creston graduates communicated by email or even in conversation over the telephone. This great relationship was like a time machine experience. A fair amount of Creston graduates have passed on, and I am sorry to learn of Neil's passing. In a telephone conversation two months ago, he asked me to call him and had left his telephone number, which I lost, somehow. There were no responses to my recent email messages to Neil, so I searched further. So long, my friend. We lived at a time that may be unimaginable to the people of today, and we did live it fairly well. I hope our generation will not be forgotten.

Dr. Sternberg became my dentist in 1974 until his retirement. He was always the happiest guy and made me feel less nervous with every funny story or joke. Prayers of comfort for his family.

Elizabeth,
Gay shared with me of your dad's death. Benny became acquainted with your dad years ago, while doing work for the Sternbergs as a drywall contractor. He commented many times how nice, friendly, and complimentary "Mr. Sternberg" was to him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your siblings, Uncle Fred and families. We pray for comfort and peace in this difficult time.
