Neil Trainor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schlossberg Chapel - Canton on Nov. 10, 2024.
Neil Edward Trainor, aged 84, passed away on November 8, 2024, at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA, following complications related to Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Boston, MA. Neil graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School for Boys, and spent most of his life in Massachusetts, with memorable chapters in Chicago and Florida.
Neil was an ardent supporter of Boston sports, particularly devoted to the Boston Red Sox, whose victories and losses were felt as keenly as his own. His passion for music was matched by his love for dancing; at any gathering, he was always the first to take to the floor, setting the rhythm with joy and exuberance. A true socialite, Neil never met a stranger-every interaction was an opportunity to forge a lifelong friendship. His wide circle of friends bore witness to his charisma, warmth, and enduring charm.
Above all, Neil cherished his family. He often expressed that he had been blessed with "the most wonderful family" and treasured every moment spent with them. His legacy is carried on by his loved ones who remember his kind spirit and zest for life.
Neil is survived by his loving sister, Merle Goldman, and her husband Steve; his children, Gregory Trainor and his wife Kelli, Tara Hauber, and Matthew Trainor and his wife Sarah; his cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Doleh, Maxwell Trainor, Ian Hauber, Coleman Hauber, Alex Trainor, and Chase Trainor; and his great-grandson, Victor Doleh. He is also remembered fondly by many including his nieces Elise Teasdale and Jill Carroll and her husband Jamie. Neil shared a loving companionship with Mary Jane Maglione following the passing of his beloved wife, Florence (Heather), and was previously married to Marjorie Chalfin. Neil's life was a testament to the power of connection, laughter, and love. His memory will be carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
Services will be held at Schlossberg Chapel, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA., at 10am on Tuesday November 12, 2024, with interment to follow at Ohavi Sedeck Cemetery, 350 Grove Street, West Roxbury MA. Please join us to remember Neil after at Newbridge on the Charles 7000 Great Meadow Rd., Dedham, MA. Shiva will be held Wednesday, November 13th-Friday, November 15th, from 10am-2pm at the home of Matthew & Sarah Trainor.
