Nelda LaVerne Walker

Nelda LaVerne Walker age 92 of Dardanelle, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born December 11, 1932 in Jonesboro, Texas to the late Morris Finkenbinder and Virginia Tharp Finkenbinder. She was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years, and a member of the Chalybeate Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Danville and she never missed a day of Sunday School in 65 years. Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Harold C. Walker; two brothers, Duard Finkenbinder, Michael Finkenbinder and a sister, Amy Emerson.

Survivors include her son, Chris Walker and wife Marilyn; two brothers, Keith Finkenbinder (Pat), Kenneth Finkenbiner; one sister, Bonnie Gentry; grandchildren, Megan Brown (Brandon), Emily Wilhite (Evan); two great grandchildren, Cole and Caleb Brown and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Monday, December 1, 2025 at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle with Jim Mullins officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 1:00P.M. to 2:00p.M. at the chapel prior to the service. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Dardanelle.

Pallbearers will be Neil Finkenbinder, Kyle Finkenbinder, Kevin Finkenbinder, Brandon Brown, Evan Wilhite and Jacob Munoz.
