Jo Nell Lesperance Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home - Allen on Feb. 5, 2026.
Nell Lesperance (born Jo Nell Parker) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2026. She was 78. Nell was born to JC and Hazel (Woodard) Parker on November 8, 1947, in Altus, Oklahoma. Along with her two sisters, June and Ann, Nell was raised on a dairy farm north of Vernon, Texas; was a member of Fargo Baptist Church; and attended Northside School for twelve years with her sisters and many cousins, graduating in 1966. Nell then graduated from Texas Tech University in 1970 and taught first grade in Arlington for three years. After completing her Master's degree in Special Education from NTSU, Nell worked as an Educational Diagnostician with Plano ISD for 35 years.

Nell met Tom Lesperance in January 1977 at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, and they were married there on November 24, 1979. After moving to Plano, they welcomed their daughters, Amy and Danielle, into their lives. She has resided in Allen since 1994.

Nell was always a kind and loving person who thought of others more than herself, and her devotion to her faith, family, and friends never faded. She was well-loved because she loved well.

Nell was preceded in death by her mother and father, but she rejoices with them now. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughters, Amy O'Grady (Andy) and Danielle Lesperance; grandsons Ryan and Liam O'Grady; sisters June Sherwood and Ann Morley; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cherished relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prestonwood Baptist Church Chapel, 6801 W Park Blvd, Plano, Texas 75093.
