Nellie Ann Barefield

Nellie Ann Barefield was called home to Christ on November 9, 2025. She was 72 years old. She was born on January 23, 1953, to the late John Allen Barefield and Ella Mae Cherry Barefield in Victoria, Texas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. She was a secretary at Texas Workforce Solutions before her retirement in 2012.
Nellie is survived by her devoted partner of 30 years, Ronald Aschen, who doted on her, two daughters, Nichol Barefield-Upton and Morgan Barefield, and her niece Brynn Beltran whom she raised as her own. She has three grandsons: Greyson Busby, Callan Valdez-Barefield, and Brennen Shelton whom she loved dearly.
She has one surviving sister, Clarice Cherry of Victoria, Texas and is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Bernice Franklin, Archie D. Cherry, Walter Barefield, Allen Barefield, and Clarence Barefield. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends.
Nellie enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
