Nellie Faye 'Nana' Hamblin

ADRIAN: Nellie Faye Hamblin, age 69 of Adrian, passed away on August 25, 2022, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on October 15, 1952, in Manchester, TN to Claude T. Cobb Sr. and Lura E. (Krantz) Tant. Nellie married Jimmy Ray Hamblin on August 30, 1975, and he preceded her in death. Nellie will be remembered as everyones mother and grandmother, she was the matriarch of her family. She was a brave woman who served as the glue that held her family together. Nellie was a very generous and forgiving person. Nellie had a wonderful sense of humor even joking with her caregivers at the hospital. Nellie served as a Supervisor at Christ Centered Homes for many years. She served as a Girl Scout leader for 20 years and a Boy Scout den mother for 10 years. Nellie enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors; hiking, kayaking, camping, gardening, and she even began to raise chickens.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christina Lynn (Edward) Anspaugh, Cheryl Faye Hamblin and James Robert (JB) Hamblin; best friend and sister, Margaret Gresham; siblings, Claude T. (Janet) Cobb Jr., Betty Naylor, Linda (Tom) King-Smith, Fred (Johana) Crew II, Donald (Rose) Crew, Hayes Crew, Carol (Brent) Crew, Larry (Theresa) Tant and Joe Cobb; six grandchildren, Dakota, Dallas, Dawson, Savannah, Paris, and Payton; eight great-grandchildren, Kaela and Harlee (Emily Hamblin), Christopher (Josh Vanderhorst), Jayde, Brooklyn, Abi, Dakota Jr. and Gideon (Katelynn Estes); and longtime friend, Bob Williams, along with numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by her Ma and Pa, Thelma and Fred Crew; her 14-year-old dog Buddy who just recently passed away; siblings, Bobby Cobb, Ruby Cobb, Jackie Cobb, Johnny Cobb and David Tant Jr.; along with sister-in-law, Janet Crew and brother-in-law, Jerry Gresham.
Visitation for Nellie will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with visitation an hour prior to the funeral services.
