Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Nellie M. Rhodes, age 89, of Devil’s Racetrack Road passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Curtis Pierce. Burial will follow in the Beasley Family Cemetery in Bentonville, NC.
Mrs. Rhodes was born on October 24, 1933 in Johnston County to the late David Almond and Julia Atkinson Beasley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mitchell Rhodes, a son, Joe Junior Rhodes, and a granddaughter, Daisy Kay Rhodes, son-in-law, Joe Tom Adams, Jr., brother, Valston Beasley, sisters, Jessie Mae Holloman, Lessie Gray Dunn, Ruby Stewart, and Mavis Dunn. Mrs. Rhodes was a seamstress and a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Julie Adams and special friend, Thomas of Kenly, Jeffrey Rhodes of New Bern, and Jervis Rhodes and wife, Jan of Four Oaks; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Eloise Bennett and husband, Ken of Four Oaks; brother, Lofton Beasley and wife, Ann of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
The Nellie Rhodes Family would like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer, Christine, April, and Robin of Johnston Home Health for their loving care of Mrs. Nellie.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
