Nellie Ross Obituary
Mrs. Ross was born on Thursday, May 6, 1937, in Sikes, Louisiana, to Oscar Spangler and Leetie Dark Spangler. A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, she was a faithful member of East Winnfield Baptist Church. Nellie Faye found great joy in tending to her flowers and working in her yard, where her careful hands and gentle spirit created beauty that reflected her quiet devotion to home and family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Spangler; her mother, Leetie Dark Spangler; and her brother, Bobby Ray Spangler.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra O'Neal (Bobby), Sandy Ross Jordan (Joey), and Ray Ross (Nikki); her seven grandchildren, Crystal, Bradley, Justin, Bryan, Staci, MaKaehan, and Rheachel; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her sister, Bernice Meyers, along with a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Midway Cemetery on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Bruce Cardin officiating.
The family of Mrs. Ross would like to acknowledge and especially thank Hand in Hand Hospice as well as Autumn Leaves Nursing Home for care and love show to their mother.
