Nelson Cole

During the night of December 25th, our family lost an extraordinary man. Nelson Cole passed away peacefully in his sleep after years of courageously facing spinal stenosis and Parkinson's.
Despite his struggles, Nelson never complained. He faced every challenge with quiet strength, faith, and grace. He never gave up-even when his body made it hard to keep going.
Nelson was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Janet Smith Cole, for 64 wonderful years. Together they raised two sons, Don and Alan, and built a family grounded in love and kindness. His sons, their spouses, and 5 wonderful grandchildren will miss his humor, crafting skills, and kindness.
In their early retirement, Nelson and Janet embraced their shared love of travel. Through Road Scholar and their own adventures, they explored the world together - learning, discovering, and forming lasting friendships wherever they went. Their journeys reflected their curiosity, love of history, and deep appreciation for the beauty of the world and its people.
An architect by profession, Nelson's creativity extended far beyond his work. He was a master gardener, a skilled craftsman, and a passionate genealogist. Above all, he was a gentle, loving soul who touched everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, curiosity, and quiet strength will live on in all of us.
