Nelson C. DeMoss, age 77, of Dayton, passed away March 30, 2025. He was born May 12, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lewis and Ezell DeMoss. In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his good friend, Mark Heitzman.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana DeMoss; children: Nelson DeMoss (Missi) and Brian DeMoss (Suzy); grandchildren: Shelby (Sean), Kylee (Logan), Jacob, Alex, Skylar, Brinlee, Gavin, Dillon, Autumn, and Lily; great-grandchildren: Kaedyn, Addie, Beckham, Aria, Everly, and Bennett; sister, Sandy Davis; brother, Lewis DeMoss; special friend, Rob Mumaw; many other relatives and friends.
Nelson retired from General Electric after many years of service. He was a member of Dayton Motorcycle Club and the American Legion. Nelson loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 5:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at 12:00 noon on Wednesday at his family farm in Glouster, Ohio. Contributions may be made in Nelson's memory to the American Heart Association.
