Nelson Rafael Vasquez

Nelson Rafael Vasquez, age 64, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on March 2, 2026.

Nelson was born on July 21, 1961, in New York to Maria Vazquez and Rafael Vazquez. He dedicated more than 31½ years of service as a Train Service Supervisor, a career he took great pride in. Through his years of hard work and commitment, Nelson became known for his reliability, dedication, and deep respect for the railway system he served.

Outside of his career, Nelson found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and had a lifelong love for trains. Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, steady presence, and the devotion he showed to his family.

Nelson is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Vasquez; his children, Anne Phillips and Thomas Vasquez; and his cherished grandchild, Elizabeth Phillips. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
