Nelson West Obituary
A lifelong resident of Jones County, Nelson grew up the son of James and Ethel West, who preceded him in death. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Nelson was a faithful member of Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. He loved his Lord and was blessed with a wonderful family and church family. In his spare time, he could be found in a tree stand, gardening or talking about it. He also loved to hunt with family and friends.
Funeral Service for Nelson will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Steven Mercer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trenton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Friday March 1, 2024, at the church. Nelson is survived by his sons, Lewis West, and wife Jenell, of Pink Hill, Jeffrey West, and wife, Vydie, of Beulaville, and Timmy West of Trenton; brothers, Jimmy West of Trenton, Ricky West, and wife, Marie, of Clayton; 5 dear grandchildren, Deonte Mills, Anaya West, Dyana West, MaeLynn West, and Evelyn West; and a special friend, Ann Broggi.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Diane Andrews West and parents, James Daniel West and Ethel Koonce West.
