VIRGINIA BEACH - Nenita "Nita" Penuliar Santorum, 90, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. Nita was born in Mapandan Pangasinan, Philippines on February 20, 1934 to the late Tiburcio Penuliar and Marina C. Penuliar. Before moving to the United States with her husband Jose, she worked as restaurant and jeepney commuter proprietor in Mapandan.
Nita enjoyed crocheting and travelling to nearby cities with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tiburcio and Marina; her husband, Jose D. Santorum; son, Renato Santorum and his wife, Dominica Mamayson; two grandsons, Jessie and Edwin Santorum; brother, Geronimo Penuliar; and daughter-in-law, Imelda Morales.
Left to cherish her memory: her daughter, Helen S. Deaver (Wes Deaver) of West Virginia; Jose P. Santorum (Elaine Bongato) of California; son, Jamie P. Santorum of Virginia Beach; daughter, Veronica S. Biala (Edgar Biala) of Virginia Beach; son, Edson P. Santorum (Cecil De Guzman) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Emelda S. Laguirta (Jimmy Laguirta) of Virginia Beach; son, Joseph P. Santorum (Leah Aficial) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Gloria S. Mirandilla (Ricardo Mirandilla) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Genalin P. Santorum of Fairfax, VA; daughter, Joanna S. Finnell of Yuma, Arizona; brother, Rodolfo Penuliar; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm on both Sunday, January 19, 2025 and Monday, January 20, 2025 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel (3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA). A funeral mass will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Church of the Ascension (4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA). In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
