Neomi "Carol" Jilge (Dunlap) of Cleburne, Texas died at home on July 15, 2025 with her husband by her side, ending a long battle with back pain from inherited arthritis, especially in her back and knees. Back surgery in 2016 helped but didn't completely solve the problem. Always some pain even with strong pills to help.

She was preceded in death by her only children, two sons Keith and Kevin, mom Anna Richison, step dad Marvin Richison, and dad, Lawrence Dunlap.

Surviving are her husband, James Jilge, three sisters Goldie Ling of Sunnyside, Washington, Betty Creelman of Louisburg, Kansas and Linda Lovejoy of Shapleigh, Maine, two daughters-in-law Lisa Jilge and Robin Welliss, three grandchildren Sarah, Lydia and Jean, plus two great granddaughters Amelia and Bristol who always perked her up and made her smile.

Carol was born on a Saturday in St. Joseph, Missouri on April 13, 1940. She moved with her family at age 15 to San Jose, California. She graduated from James Lick High School in 1958, met an Oklahoma boy named James in 1959, and married him in 1960. It must have been a good choice because it lasted 65 years until death. Her ashes will be buried in the Keene, Texas Cemetery about 1/2 mile from the house she lived in for the last 53 years.
