Nerina Mary Geiger

Nerina Mary Geiger, 75, Mandan, passed away January 17, 2017 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, ND after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Vincent Cemetery in Crown Butte following the service. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Christian Mother's Rosary at 6:30 pm and Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Nerina was born on October 16, 1941 to John and Flora (Brittner) Boehm in Mandan, ND. She was raised and educated in the Crown Butte area. She helped her family by raising turkeys on the family farm and was an active member of the local 4-H Club. Nerina married Edmund Geiger on August 27, 1962 in Crown Butte. They farmed west of Mandan, where they also raised their family. Nerina worked as a housekeeper before she was married and then became a farm wife which included all of the daily chores of living on a farm. She was a member of the Christ the King Parish and a member of the Christian Mother's. Edmund died on May 2, 2001. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to read. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, especially baby blankets, and watching the EWTN station on television. Nerina will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jane (Conway) Kangas, Borup, MN; her sons, Bruce (Norma) Geiger, Bismarck, ND, Alan Geiger, Belfield, ND and Wesley (Amber) Geiger, Mandan, ND; 6 grandchildren, McKenzie, Dylan, Allyson, Alexander, Gracelyn and Dane; sisters, Minnie Geiger, Mandan, ND, Delores Urban, Fargo, ND, Carol (George) Hagerott, Mandan, ND, Mary (Ralph) Fried, Mandan, ND and Leona (Jim) Ressler, Bismarck, ND; brothers, Ron (Charlotte) Boehm, Shady Cove, OR, Joe (Beatrice) Boehm, Mandan, ND, John (Kathleen) Boehm, Mandan, ND and Jim Boehm, Mandan, ND; sisters-in-law, Marlene Boehm, Springfield, OR and Elaine Boehm, Mandan, ND. Nerina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund; son, Nicholes; daughters Susan and Lenore; grandsons, Skyler and Nichoulas Geiger; brothers, Ed Boehm and LeRoy Boehm; sister-in-law, Patricia Boehm and brother-in-law, Bill Geiger.
