Neta Carol Hartline

Neta Hartline, age 70, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on January 8, 1955, in Nevada, Missouri, to Merle and Billie Rutledge.
Neta grew up in Walker, Missouri, where she graduated from Walker High School in 1973. During her school years, she served as the official scorekeeper for high school games. While her younger sisters played outside on the family farm, Neta could often be found indoors doing her hair, painting her fingernails, or sitting at the piano-an instrument she dearly loved in her younger years.
In 1972, Neta married her high school sweetheart, Jack Hartline. In 1974, they moved to Idaho with one child and later welcomed two more children while living there. Idaho was home for nearly 20 years before the family returned to their native Missouri.
Neta was a hardworking woman who held various jobs over the years while always maintaining a loving home. No matter how busy life became, she made sure her family gathered around the table for a home-cooked meal every night. She was an amazing cook, and her kitchen was a place of comfort, love, and togetherness.
Neta passed away due to complications from COPD and emphysema, but those who knew and loved her believe she died of a broken heart. Her beloved husband of 53 years passed away just nine months earlier, and she was never the same without him. She missed him deeply and struggled to imagine life without her lifelong partner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Billie Rutledge, and her husband, Jack Hartline.
Neta is survived by her children: Lucinda Lamb of Caldwell, Idaho; Tomas (Angelique) Hartline of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; and Carey Hartline of Eldorado Springs, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ethan Roberts (Kristel) of Overland Park, Kansas; Ashley Hartline of Boise, Idaho; Breiann DuCharme of Nevada, Missouri; and Emily Nab of Jerome, Idaho. She leaves behind her sisters, Susan (Rob) Barrett of Nevada, Missouri, and Derenda (Doug) Gariss of Lamar, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
