It is with joy and jubilation that we announce Heaven has received a faithful servant, well done Neta Jo Liebscher. Mom went upstairs to be with Jesus on October 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. the usual time she would have left Mobile Meals with everything cared for.
Neta Jo was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma on May 9, 1938 in a "chicken house" to Omar Eldon and Wauneta Irene Riley. The joy of her life came in 1946 when her brother Jack Burton Riley was born. Little Jackie was hers to care for and he made her a great caregiver and future mother. She always lit up when she saw him.
Neta Jo graduated for Capitol Hill High School in 1956; the best part of those years was her lifelong friendship created with her best friend, Charlene. She married the love of her life, Leon Lee Liebscher, four months later on September 1, 1956. They were married 48 years and 10 months. From this union came their three children, Lester Lee, LaNeta Jean Jack, and Loren Leon. Neta was a stay-at-home mother until her youngest child's senior year. She was active at Darlington where she made many lifelong friends. She started her mission field work at Mobile Meals of El Reno in 1982 and remained there with this motto "It is our job to help everyone and not judge, in order to help those who really need it" until her retirement in 2018. The friends she made during this time increased her joy and fueled her passion; she took many of those memories and dear friendships with her when she retired. Everyone felt as if they were the most important person next to her. She never took any federal money but with prayer and dedication, she left the program in the black.
In 1956 when she joined Leon in love, she also joined the family of Mt. Zion. Her friends became her family, she was dedicated to the Woman's society and the Mt. Zion Soup Supper where for 55 years she was in charge of making the chili. She supplied candy cane reindeers for the children to sell. Neta Jo was known as the candy lady to the children always telling them "Not to litter and to care for the church".
Neta Jo loved to travel. She enjoyed the many adventures with Mary and George, Linda and Jerry the girls from Mobile Meals, the friend from Darlington, and her family were some of her most cherished memories.
Neta Jo is survived by her brother, Jack Riley and wife Judy; her children, Lester Liebscher and wife Monica, LaNeta Guth and Husband Steve, Loren Liebscher and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Lydia Wolff and husband Charlie, Mallory Liebscher, Logan Guth wife Shaylea, Sarah Diaz and husband Andres, Kelsey Hines and husband Stewart, Lindsey Mikael and husband Brandon, and Colton Blaze Liebscher; great-grandchildren, Kaybree, Akela, Hudson, McKenna, Lucas, Marayah, Eli, Ellis, and Amelia Jayne; and other precious family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Omar and Wauneta Riley; her husband, Leon Liebscher; her father-in-law Ernest Liebscher.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Neta Jo's name to Mobile Meals of El Reno or Mt. Zion Memorial Fund.
A funeral service to honor the life of Neta Jo will be held at 2:00 p.m., on October 24, 2022 at the Mt. Zion Church with burial to follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 23 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
