Nettie Kay Dixon, 68, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2023. She was born on October 4, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to Ervin Earl Dixon and Katie Blanche Murphy Dixon.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1 pm at Clever Creek Cemetery in Center, Texas.
Kay was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She was a graduate of M.B. Smiley High School. Kay was a business owner dealing in antiques. She worked in the banking industry for several years, first as a teller at a local bank in Pearland, Texas and then as a bursar at U.T. Medical School in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with her family in East Texas, where they lived for many years; some of her more memorable times were visiting her sister, Peggy, in East Texas and enjoying some of her favorite foods such as mustard greens and mac-n-cheese.
Kay cherished many friends in the Houston area, but most especially her close friends, Michael N, Michael D, Ronny L, Daniel L, who shared her life daily. She will be deeply missed and remembered by them and all those who knew her.
Kay had one son, whom she was very proud of and loved dearly.
She is survived by her son, Larry Howard and daughter-in-law, Tracy; sister, Peggy Sue Beall and brother-in-law, David; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Blanche Dixon.
