Neva B. Dow as born June 24, 1929, to Gladys Lee (Nance) and Phil Jones Dow. She was born in the home of her maternal grandparents southwest of Guymon in Texas County. She grew up in Guymon and graduated from Guymon High School in 1947.
During high school, she began working in the County Treasurer's Office and worked there for several years. In 1955 she married Larry Dyer. They had one daughter, Debra Kay (Debbie) Dyer. Larry died in 1964.
On June 26, 1968, Neva married Norman D. Iverson in Trinity Baptist Church, where both were long-time members. He later adopted Debbie. He died in 2011.
Neva died March 6, 2023 at Newton Presbyterian Manor, Newton, Kansas. She is survived by step-daughter Rev. Ruby Keymann and her husband Rev. Bill Kleymann, of Newton, Kansas. Eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren survive. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Ledia Dow, one niece and one nephew.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter Debbie Iverson, step-daughters, Joanna Hueson, Leona Brooks and Mary Danielson, and her brother Eldon Dow.
Neva’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Sunset Baptist Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. Inurnment will be at Elmhurst Cemetary at a later time.
