Nevaeh Elise Pinckney Govan was a bright and beautiful soul, born on January 13, 2014, who brought joy, love, and laughter into the lives of everyone she met. Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made will last forever.
Before relocating to her new home in Atlanta, GA where she attended New Manchester Elementary, Neveah attended Ladson Elementary in Charleston, SC.
A dedicated and hardworking student, Nevaeh was an honor roll student who took great pride in her education. She had a natural love for learning and always challenged herself to do her best. She was especially passionate about technology and innovation, proudly serving as a member of her school's robotics team, where she enjoyed building, problem-solving, and working as a team to create something amazing.
From a young age, Nevaeh had a passion for cooking and baking, spending hours perfecting her skills and sharing her talents with those around her. She loved karate, dancing and making tik toks, always finding new ways to express her creativity and curiosity. Whether it was cheerleading, or playing Monopoly Go, she embraced life with enthusiasm and a heart full of wonder.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy in being active at New Tabernacle Second Missionary Baptist church. Nevaeh was dedicated back to the Lord in 2014 under the leadership of pastor Herman J Smalls, and continued to be an active member under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Robinson until the time of her untimely death. Nevaeh was very active in church attending Sunday School, and participating in youth activities that allowed her to grow in her love for God. Her kindness and compassion reflected the values she cherished, and she always sought to bring light and encouragement to those around her.
Her laughter was infectious, her kindness limitless, and her ability to brighten even the darkest days was truly special. She adored spending time with her family, making memories with her friends, and showing love to everyone she met. Her caring nature extended to all things beautiful in the world.
Nevaeh is lovingly remembered by her devoted mother Helen A. Pinckney and her father Kelvin Govan her siblings, Reginald X. Pinckney and Peyton S. Pinckney, her grandparents, Rebecca W. Pinckney, Carlethia Drayton (Michael), uncles, Thomas Pinckney Jr. (Marcella), Lashane X. Pinckney Sr (Chrissy), Lesean A. Pinckney (Brandy), her aunt Charity Pinckney, cousins and special cousins Tynashia Pinckney, Trinity Pinckney and Jabari Brown, Lashane Pinckney Jr, Michael Horlback, Gabrielle A. Pinckney and a large circle of family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Nevaeh was preceded in death by her grandfathers Thomas Pinckney Sr and Joseph Beaton. Though we grieve her loss, we celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and the love she left behind.
As we honor her today, we carry forward her spirit of kindness, faith, and curiosity. Rest peacefully, sweet Nevaeh Elise-your light will shine in our hearts forever.
