Newt was born on January 30, 1942 in Tillar, Arkansas to Amanda Bell Watson and Newt Watson Sr. The last of 10 children, the family eventually relocated to Chicago, Illinois as part of the historic Great Migration seeking a better life.
Newt met his bride of 55 years in high school and they married November 5, 1965.
Through many obstacles and challenges, Newt successfully received his MBA from the University of Chicago in marketing and finance, which opened the door to many career opportunities enabling the young family to move Rochester, NY where he worked at Xerox until retirement.
A dedicated son of Christ and lifelong scholar, Newt went on to receive his M.A in theology at St. Bernard's.
Newt's interests were vast and his thirst for knowledge extensive. He imparted a strong work ethic in his children and faced every challenge with humor and intelligence.
Newt was preceded in death by his mother and father and 8 of his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Diana; children: Bryan, Alan, and Kelly; grandchildren: David and Samantha; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to call between 11:00 am and 1:00pm on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 3325 Winton Rd. S. Rochester. Followed by a Graveside Service at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road.

I had the opportunity to work with Newt in various capacities over the years at Xerox. He was a true professional that also was a friend. Our mutual interest of love for God was the focus of many of our personal conversations and we thank
God for the life he lived here and the life he is now enjoying with God.

Newt was a wonderful person and provided valuable guidance as my manager when I moved to Chicago with Xerox many years ago. I have good memories of Newt and very sorry to hear of his passing. Wishing the very best to his family
