Nicasio DiGiacomo, a cherished man known for his loving nature and remarkable handiwork, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, at the age of 92.
Nicasio (Nick) was born in the heart of Sicily, on Christmas Day in 1933, to his late parents Giuseppe and Filomena (Siragusa) DiGiacomo. Nick grew up with rich traditions of family, culture, and faith that would define his life.
Nick's story is one woven through with the love of his expansive family. At 18, he left Italy and made the long journey to the Bronx, emigrating through Ellis Island. He found a job, started working and sent money home to his family. Slowly but surely, he brought over each sibling and together they worked until their entire family was reunited in America.
He was the doting husband to his beloved wife, Anna (Delli Carpini) DiGiacomo, and a loving father to his adoring children, Phyllis and her husband Jack, and Adela and her husband Joseph.
His legacy further carried through his stepchildren, Anthony and Linda, and through his role as a cherished grandfather to Kristen and her husband David, Nicholas and his wife Nicole, Dana, and her husband Brendan, Jessica and her husband Jason, Amanda and her husband Ronnie, Michael, Joseph, John, Angelo, Angelo, and Victoria, along with his great-grandchildren, Shea, Austin, Jonathan, Violetta, Maddalena, Joseph (JD), Taylor, Danika, Adelina, Noella, Liliana, RJ, and Enzo.
Nicasio also leaves behind his dear siblings, Sal, Benny and his wife Sisella, Dominic and his wife Pam, Nancy, Frances, Rosalie and her husband Frank, his sister-in-law Eilene, and countless more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will also feel the void left by his passing.
Sadly, he was predeceased by his first love and wife of 39 years, Raffaela (Iaccarino) in 1995, his son Joseph in 2013, daughter-in-law Ginger in 2022, his brother Frank, sister-in-law Anna, and brother-in-law Frank.
Nicasio's professional life was marked by an unwavering commitment to his craftsmanship in carpentry and plumbing. His skilled hands built more than structures and skyscrapers; they created a legacy of reliability and pride in every task he undertook. After relocating to the sunshine of Florida in 2003, he continued to serve his community as a devout parishioner at St. Bernadette's Church.
Counted among his greatest joys were the times spent with his family and in the garden, tending to the earth and nurturing growth with the same care he gave to his family. He reveled in a life well-traveled, had a fondness for vintage cars and took pleasure in basking in the melodies of a classic Elvis tune. Always impeccably dressed, Nicasio was the epitome of class. His dedication extended to the Knights of Columbus, where he was a devoted member. His impact will continue to be felt throughout the lives he touched, leaving a legacy of hard work, devotion and, above all, love.
