Nicholas Ray Brull was born on January 26, 2006, at Atchison Hospital, a soul destined to leave a mark on the lives of those who knew and loved him. He left this world too soon on March 8, 2026, after just 20 years filled with joy, laughter, and a profound love for his family and friends.
A visitation with family and friends will be on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, March 14th at 10:30 AM at St. Ann's Church in Effingham, where he will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following the service. Memorials may be left to the Knights of Columbus Effingham Council #10321 in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Nick was known for his dedication and hard work as a farmhand with Buttron Farms, where he tackled every task to ensure the smooth operation of the farm. His love for life transcended his work; he embraced each day with a quick wit, an ornery spirit, and a touch of sarcasm that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was a passionate individual who lived life to its fullest, whether he was out in the fields, hunting, fishing, or showing off his newfound skills cooking and grilling.
He attended Atchison County Community Schools, graduating from ACCHS in 2024. He furthered his knowledge and skills by attending Vo Tech during high school, and it was a point of pride for him when he recently acquired his CDL.
Nick cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, showcasing his love for them by always sharing hugs before parting ways. He possessed an innate ability to throw unforgettable parties that brought everyone together, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. Alongside his father and brother, he enjoyed many hours playing in pool leagues, building bonds that will forever be cherished.
A proud member of St. Ann's Church and the third-degree Knights of Columbus, Nicholas was active not only in his community but also in fostering a sense of belonging and support among his peers.
He is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Christy (Coder) Brull; his brother, Tanner Brull (Brooklyn Kearney); his grandparents, Steve and Peggy Coder and Marilyn Brull; aunts and uncles, Mark (Brenda) Brull, Jeff Brull, and Ashly (Shane) Hundley; along with his cousins, Alex Brull, Kendra Brull, Branson Brull, Brayden Brull, Meghan Hundley and Emily Hundley and his extended family, who will carry his spirit with them always. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, James "Jim" Brull, and his aunt, Tracy Brull.
As his family and friends gather to honor the life of Nicholas, they will cherish the vibrant spirit he brought into their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humorous memories, and the warmth that only someone like him could provide — reminding all who knew him to embrace life fully and generously.
