Nicholas G. Catsos, 75, of North East, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday September 13, 2025 at his residence. He was born on May 7, 1950 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Michael and Evangeline (Regas) Catsos.

Nicholas is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carole (Ruffennach) Catsos and sister, Joy Catsos of Charleston West Virginia.

Nicholas obtained his bachelor's degree from Charleston University and dedicated his work life to the Social Security Department as a claims representative in Pittsburgh for 50 years where he spent countless hours and as much overtime as needed to ensure others received their social security benefits.

He enjoyed playing basketball, was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, and a beloved friend and neighbor to all that knew him.

Nick and Carole shared a deep friendship, enjoyed vacationing at their cottage, and had a special love for their fur babies.

His dogs were his children and he had a heart of kindness for all animals that transcended and showed through his spirit of love.

A very special thank you to the Community Nursing Services of North East for the professionalism and care during Nicholas's illness.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday September 19, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
