Nicholas Duval Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 10, 2024.
Nicholas Charles Duval, age 69, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away January 8, 2024.
Nick was born on April 3, 1954 in Kansas City to his late parents, Charles and Vivan Duval. He was raised with his sister, Judy Catanzaro, and four brothers, Tim, Ted, Doug, and Chris Duval.
His father owned City Wide Heating and Cooling where Nick began working as a teenager.
Nick married Margaret Shortino in 1978. They were in for the biggest surprise of their lives when they welcomed their triplets, Laura, Alex, and Matt in 1987.
Nick later branched out on his own and opened City Wide Sheet Metal, Inc. where he worked until his death. As history repeats itself, his children joined him in the business. Laura, Matt, and granddaughter Reese (the copy getter) are continuing his legacy.
When not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching TV, cooking on the grill, sitting out on his deck watching the Royals, looking for wildlife on drives with Margaret, and fishing. No matter the season, he especially enjoyed his trips to Minnesota to fish (and eat) with his friend Walt.
Nick is survived by his wife of 45 years Margaret; daughter, Laura Blevins (Chris) and their children, Reese (4) Emma (8 weeks); sons, Alex (Sophia) and Matt (Izzie) and their child, Dallas (5).
His visitation will begin at 9:30am, followed by his Memorial Mass at 10:30am, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church at 7023 W. 71st Street OPKS 66204. Lunch will be provided after in the Parish Hall.
The family would like to thank our team from Catholic Community Hospice for their care and compassion.
