Nicholas Edelman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home on Jun. 22, 2023.
Nicholas C. Edelman Jr., Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, age 87 living with his Family in New Jersey, previously from The Villages, Florida, passed away suddenly at his home in Franklinville, NJ on June 21st, 2023.
Nick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 3, 1935. He was married in 1956 to Barbara Riley, his one and only love. With her, they shared 64 years together. They raised three children and taught them by example of Family, Faith, and Friends.
Nick took pride in being a hard-working father figure and roll model. He worked multiple jobs to provide a better life for his family. As a young man, he huckstered fruits and vegetables with his horse Dixie, through the streets of Philadelphia. He also maintained the stable in which Dixie was boarded at.
As Nick and Barb started their family, Nick started buying, renting, and selling properties in and around the Fishtown area. He also had a storm door and window business that flourished. While doing all of his side work, he held down a full-time shift work position as a chemist for Atlantic Richfield. When things started to get rough in the city, Nick picked up his family and moved to Williamstown, New Jersey, where they lived for almost 32 years before starting their retirement in Wildwood Crest, NJ. After his wife Barbara's successful first battle with cancer, they fulfilled their dream of retiring to Florida. They spent many Happy years there in The Villages making and meeting new friends, and fully enjoying themselves in retirement.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Riley). Devoted father of Nicholas (Wendy) Edelman, William (Louise) Edelman and Barbara Cunane. Dear brother of Dennis Edelman. Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, June 27th from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Private Inurnments Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
A Funeral Luncheon will follow at the Scotland Run Golf Club, 2626 Fries Mill Rd., Williamstown.
