On August 25, 2022, Nicholas John Gregory, age 40, of Roslyn Heights passed away peacefully at Bellevue Hospital in New York City at 2:15PM, with his family, partner and close friends by his side, due to complications from an accident that occured with his scooter and an automobile.
Nick was born in Manhasset, New York to Bruce and Susan Gregory on December 13, 1981, the first of their four beloved children and grew up in Roslyn Heights with his three siblings, Jineane, Christina and Dean, all of whom he adored.
Nick was the co-founder and managing partner of Capital Dude, LLC and Central Diligence Group, LLC, both of which have been recognized by Inc. 5,000 as fastest-growing private companies in America. Despite his already extremely busy work schedule, he also did business consulting on the side free of charge and provided business consulting and other services through another company he owned, First Leap, LLC. He was a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
A born entrepreneur, he was constantly coming up with and pursuing new business ideas, including patenting products that his incredibly creative mind conceived. He always had a motivational quote nearby and strived to be better and do better every day. Nick never gave up on anything, even in the face of extreme adversity.
Nick had many unique experiences during his life, all of which he held dear, including those he met during his travels. He spent the last few years of his life going on countless adventures with the love of his life, his partner, Shanna Kaminski. Nick enjoyed living life to its fullest extent and found excitement in learning new things. He enjoyed skydiving, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, and his jet ski. Snowboarded, surfed, ziplined and would seek out just about anything that would allow him to go fast or make his heart race. He even sought out the idea of obtaining a pilot s license. The opportunities were endless.
Nick had a passion for cars and racing. He started with auto cross and with the encouragement of his best friend, Mike Mineo, obtained his racing license, purchased a spec Miata and began racing competitively at tracks throughout the Northeast, primarily through races sponsored by the Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA). Nick had many first-place finishes over his lifetime and was a proud member of the SCDA.
To have known Nick is to have loved him. An extremely generous individual with the purest of hearts. He took the time to foster relationships with others and was always willing to help someone at the drop of a hat. His zest for life and daily exuberance has attracted so many. He has made many connections and lasting memories with those he met in his life. He will never be forgotten.
Nick is survived by his loving parents, Bruce and Susan, his dear siblings, Jineane, Christina, and Dean, his brother-in-law, Michael Eliades, his treasured niece and nephew, Christian and Sofia Eliades and his devoted partner, Shanna Kaminski.
Visitation will be held at Roslyn Heights Funeral Home on Tuesday 3-5 & 7-9 and Wednesday 3-5 & 7-9. Funeral mass Thursday 10AM at St. Mary, Roslyn Harbor. Interment to follow Holy Rood Cemetery.
