In Loving Memory of Nicholas Kralik Jr
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Nicholas "Nick" Kralik Jr, who left us peacefully on February 23, 2025. Born on March 3, 1934, he would have celebrated his 91st birthday just days after his passing.
Nick dedicated his life to serving others and his community. At 17 he joined the United States Army. He was assigned to the 187th Airborne Division where he and his fellow servicemen were nicknamed "Rakkasans" during combat in the Korean War. In addition to being a paratrooper he was a Member of the Military Police and trained a K-9 officer. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he proudly served the White Plains Police Department retiring as a first-grade detective. His sense of duty extended beyond the police badge as he was a member of the WP Volunteer Fire Department. He was dedicated to upholding justice with an unwavering commitment, always ready to respond in times of need. Upon retirement he served as Director of Security at New York Hospital (Cornell Medical Center), ensuring the safety and well-being of countless individuals.
An ardent Yankees fan and avid baseball player, Nick, played for multiple teams throughout Westchester until his early 60's. His love of game won him personal praise and he and his teams' championships.
Throughout his life, Nick lived with warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. He dedicated himself to his family, friends, and community, always ready with a kind word, a gentle smile, and a helping hand. His love for life, sense of humor, and generosity made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is reflected in the countless lives he touched through his compassion and steadfast commitment to the well-being of those around him.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie, his son Nick and Anna Kralik, their four children Nicole Geradi, Noelle and Chris Mathews, Danielle and Nick Kralik IV along with six great grandchildren. His sister Suzane and Joseph Steiner and a number of family and a wide circle of friends who will dearly miss his presence.
Memorial Service and Viewing
A memorial service and viewing will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, inspiring us with the legacy of service, courage, and compassion he embodied.
