Nicholas Pateas Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 6, 2025.
Nicholas Pateas, 94, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by Marion Pateas, his wife of sixty-five years and survived by their children, George (Kim) Pateas, Andrea (John) Christy, and Susan (Stephen) Besedick; grandchildren Drew, Michael(Katie), Alec, Matthew, Allison, Olivia, and Nicholas; great-granddaughter Cora and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was loved by many-family, friends, and neighbors. Nick was born February 12, 1931 in McKees Rocks, PA and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a business founder and owner in Youngstown, Ohio and then in Orlando, Florida. Nick was an avid golfer and a passionate listener of classical music. He was also an entertaining storyteller due to his diverse experiences growing up in his family's restaurant business. A source of guidance to many, Nick had a love for family gatherings. Nick and his late wife, Marion, were high school sweethearts and had known each other since grade school. They shared their love of music with one another singing duets in the high school choir and by request. Forever in our hearts, anyone who knew Nick loved him for his charismatic personality, positive spirit and kind heart. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on October 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 400 S. Lakemont Avenue, Winter Park, Florida. A reception will follow at the home of John & Andrea Christy, 711 Via Bella, Winter Park, Florida.
