Nicholas "Nick" Paul Runkle, 45 of Steelton, tragically passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. Born in Harrisburg, Nick was the beloved son of Barry L. Runkle and Susan E. (Forney) Runkle of Steelton. He is also survived by his devoted sisters; Amanda Runkle of Steelton, Darby Runkle of Pittsburgh and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nick was known for his deep love of music, sports and adventure. A talented musician, he could play numerous instruments and had a remarkable voice that carried effortlessly in perfect tune. Music was woven into his life, just as strongly as his love for sports. Whether it was sprint car or NASCAR racing, football, soccer, basketball, or hockey – Nick loved it all. He was happiest surrounded by friends and family, traveling to different cities and states to catch a game, concert or race. His energy, laughter and enthusiasm made every trip memorable. Nick's heart belonged to Steelton. He took immense pride in his hometown and his work at the steel mill. His dedication to his craft and his coworkers was unwavering – he believed in the strength and spirit of Steelton and worked tirelessly to uphold is proud legacy. To Nick, Steelton wasn't just where he lived – it was part of who he was. He will be remembered for his passion, loyalty, humor and his one-of-a-kind sense of style. Nick lived life boldly, loved deeply and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, and he will be forever loved and missed by his family, friends and community. Nick will be remembered at a celebration of life on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the IW Abel Union Hall, 200 Gibson Street,
Steelton, PA 17113. The gathering will begin with visitation and refreshments, followed by a time of sharing. There will be brief opportunity during the service for those who wish to share a short story or memory of Nick.
