Nicholas J. Sciarretta, Jr.
"Loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother"
Nicholas J. Sciarretta, Jr., 66, of Waterbury, entered the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital after a short, courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Scarmo) Sciarretta.
Nick was born in Waterbury on March 02, 1959, the son of Anna (Santoro) Sciarretta of Watertown and the late Nicholas J. Sciarretta, Sr. Nick graduated from Webster Grammar School and Wilby High School Class of 1977. Nick was an avid baseball player and a passionate New York Yankee fan. He worked for Sega Ready Mix Inc. until his retirement in 2011.
Besides his wife Patricia of 44 years and his mother Anna, Nick leaves to cherish the memories of his two children, Ashley Sciarretta (Greg Martin) of Bristol and Eric J. Sciarretta (Amanda Rosado) of Waterbury; two sisters, Susan Middagh and her husband Clifford of Watertown and Catherine Santoro (Nikko) of Florida, a grandson that he loved and adored, Carter J. Sciarretta; a brother-in-law, Tom Scarmo and his wife Jackie of Cheshire; a sister-in-law, Joann Diaz and her husband Anthony "Tuti" of Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony D. Sciarretta, who died in December
of 2020.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial with Nick's cremains present will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael's Church, 62 St. Michael's Drive, Waterbury. There will be no calling hours. Everyone attending is asked to meet directly at the church. All services will end at the close of the Mass.
