Aaron’s Mortuary and Crematory - Brigham CityNicholas LaMar Valentine was born October 7, 1944, and passed away at his home in Perry, Utah on September 20, 2025.
Nick was raised by loving parents Hyrum LaMar Valentine and Alfreda Nicholas Valentine, and learned the value of hard work from his dad, as they ran the family peach orchard and farm. Nick was broadly known as Nicky Peaches, and – although his “right-hand man” around the orchard was his wife, Leona – he also enjoyed the support and help from many family members and friends.
Nick married Leona Osmond November 10, 1980, and inherited two children that became his own, who later brought grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he adored into his life.
Nick attended Box Elder High School. He attended Army Artillery Training and served in the Utah National Guard. Nick had a great deal of interests throughout his life including skydiving, attending rodeo school, cooking, fishing, hunting and golfing. In past years he taught himself woodworking and made many wooden ducks, animals, and furniture. Later he taught himself to sketch and paint. He gave many of his beautiful paintings to his friends and family he loved.
Nick was who we called to see how to plant our gardens, what to do with sick plants or trees, when to stop watering for the year, how to get seeds from our tomatoes this year to plant next year, and how to know when the butternut squash was ripe. He was a veritable encyclopedia – although if he didn’t know how to do something he would be the first to admit it. He will be missed by so many people.
Nick is survived by his wife, Leona, children Don Stander, Kay (Scott) Anderson, grandchildren Jacie (Lance) Jensen, Jessica (Newel) Anderson, Tanya (Jace) Garside, Wes (Nicole) Stander, Justin (Ashley) Anderson, and great-grandchildren Rexton and Chance Jensen, Evie and Amelie Anderson, Taizlee, Maivree, Jantz and Mackston Garside, Emma and Luna Stander.
A viewing for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 888 South Main Street, Brigham City, Utah.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Willard Cemetery, Willard, Utah.
