Nick E. Oltean

Nick Edmund Oltean, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on March 26,2022.
Nick was born on July 14, 1943 to Nick and Catherine Oltean in Indianapolis. He attended Wood High School in Indianapolis. Nick worked for various companies over the years including George F. Cram and Bryant Heating and Cooling. He retired as a proud Teamster from Roadway Express after 30 years of employment.
Nick, or Butch to you who knew him in the early days, loved to cook, fish, vacation, and garden. He would cook enough meals for his bachelor buddies to keep them stocked for a week. When he wasn't out chasing deals at the grocery store, he loved to watch the Cooking Channel. He raised a garden and would can tomatoes, peppers, and delicious bread and butter pickles every summer. Nick was a man of few words but would show his love through his actions.
Nick was predeceased by his son John, grandson Matthew Barrick, sister Sharon, and his brothers Steve and Tim. He is survived by his daughter Mary Coffey, her husband Robert, grandchildren Lily and Nick, his wife Wilma "Willie" Oltean, his step-children Brian Barrick and Holly Moore, grandchildren Tim Barrick, Andrew (Megan) Price, Taylor (Koda) Hampshire, and his siblings Keith, Valerie, Vicki, and Roberta.
A viewing will take place at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood on April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Greenwood with a Celebration of Life gathering at Smith Valley United Methodist Church afterwards.
