Nickey Goldey, 76, of Mooreland, Indiana, and formerly of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, following a long illness. He was born on March 12, 1948, to James and Janette Arlene (Stephens) Goldey in Henry County, lndiana.
Nickey was a 1966 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He worked at Hook's Drugstore and retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 35 years of service. Nickey was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #1282 and served as Trustee for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved making improvements around the home.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, of 56 years, Sharon (Sipe) Goldey; 4 children, Matthew (Cindy) Goldey, Katherine (Matthew) Driskill, Truie Goldey, Nickey Nathan (Bob) Goldey; 5 grandchildren Michael (Alyona Settlemyre) Fleenor, Dillon (Vanessa) Goldey, Caleb Tungate, Taylor (Paige) Goldey, Allyssa (Jacob Day) Driskill; 1 sister, Janette (Allen) Griggs; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Emily Grace Goldey and Sherry Ann Dale.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at Batson Cemetery, east of New Castle.
