Nico Roberts , beloved Siberian Husky and sweet boy of Jimmie and Christi Roberts, of
Greenfield, Indiana, passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at home. Nico was born on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He officially became a part of the Roberts family on Saturday, April 1, 2023, after he was adopted from Greenfield Hancock Animal Management.
Nico brought so much happiness to his new family. His family shared what they loved the most about Nico: "his gentle spirit. He was all about being laid back and observing his surroundings. He was an old soul, and when you looked into his bright blue eyes, you could feel his calmness and couldn't deny him anything."
Jimmie described Nico's personality as "the most happy, loving boy who loved to chase rabbits with Ayla. You could catch him lying around and smiling while observing his family."
Jimmie shared what he felt Nico valued most in life: "Nico loved his sister, Ayla, and the rest of his family. He loved to go camping the most. He would get so excited when his mom and dad would bring the camper home to start loading it for a trip."
According to Jimmie, Nico enjoyed car rides, where he "usually fell asleep in the backseat when driving to the next campsite." He loved going for walks and hiking the trails to see what he could sniff out or stir up."
Jimmie also jokingly relayed, "His favorite toy was 'whatever his sister was playing with at the time.'"
His favorite treats were "Minty Bones." Nico looked forward to them every day his mom and dad got home from work-which was referred to as brushing his teeth.
Jimmie shared Nico did not like baths, but he would "lie there for hours while you brushed him."
Nico, who the family also referred to as their "Best Boy Ever," loved his entire family but had a special relationship with his human daddy, Jimmie. His family shared, "He wanted to be next to him wherever he was, especially when he was cooking on the Blackstone."
Nico had such a big personality; he will be forever loved and missed, and his sweet memory will last forever in his family's hearts. In addition to Christi and Jimmie, mourning the loss of Nico are his fur sibling Husky Sister Ayla and human siblings Ellie (Noah) Clark and Trenton (Valentina Brooks).
