Nicolas Scott LeDuc, aged 44, passed away on December 22, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Nic was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Shortly after he moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he spent his formative years developing his love of green chili and aversion to black beans. He had a childhood full of memories and mischief, making solid friendships that stuck with him his whole life. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and was assigned as a 'nuke' on the USS Nevada, a nuclear submarine stationed in Bangor, Washington.
After completing his service, he attended Seattle University to become a Mechanical Engineer, which he put to good use working at a handful of companies in the greater Seattle area as a Mechanical and then Design Engineer. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, intelligence, dark humor and dedication to his various assignments. He truly enjoyed his coworkers and excelled in his career. His jobs took him on fascinating trips all over the globe including Venezuela, Turkey, and DC.
Nic met his wife, Diana, in 2009. They had a dream wedding in Cabo surrounded by family and friends in 2012. They bought their first house in Ballard (Seattle) shortly after, and welcomed their son Archer, followed by their daughter Madeleine.
More than anything, Nic loved his children. He enjoyed watching them grow and discovering their unique personalities. He loved his nightly talks with Archer, and cuddling with Maddy. In his free time, Nic enjoyed skeet shooting, hunting for the best IPAs, attending Sounders games, and his favorite foods. He was very close to his siblings and extended family and loved to visit them whenever he could.
Nic is survived by his wife, Diana, his children, Archer and Madeleine, his sister Christy and her husband Bill, brother Greg, sisters Dani and Tiffany, nieces Cassie, Alyssa, Jamie, and Justine, and nephews Tony, James and Grant. His family is grateful for all the wonderful memories and his legacy will live on in his children.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 11am, at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Archer and Madeleine's college funds (https://gofund.me/af15dd34).
