Nicolas (Nick) Panos, 89, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, with his beloved wife of 65 years by his side. He was born on May 2, 1936, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Melba and James Panos. He was preceded in death by his brother, George, and is survived by his sister, Dena.

Nick proudly served four years in the United States Army and attended the College of Charleston following his military service. He devoted his professional life to public service, building a successful career as an Investigator for the Office of Inspector General with the Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of dedicated service to his community and country.

A man of deep faith, Nick was very active in the Greek Orthodox Church throughout his life. He was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta and later of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church in Cumming, where his faith and commitment to his church family were evident to all who knew him. He was instrumental in the building and growth of the church in Cumming.

Nick is survived by his wife, Theodora (Teddie); his sons, James (Kathy) and Perry (Aimee); his cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Lauren, Nicole, and Paige. He will be remembered for his integrity, devotion to family, steadfast faith, and a lifetime of service. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Nick's funeral will be held at STs. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church on February 24th at 1:00 followed by a family service at the Sawnee View Gardens Cemetery.

The family asks in lieu of flowers to please donate to the STs. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church building fund at: www.stsrni.org
