Nicole Samantha "Chubbster" Blair

CHARLOTTE, NC - Nicole Samantha Chubbster Blair, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
Born in Syracuse, NY on October 20, 1977, Nicole was born to the late Lorine Monroe but was raised by Dorothy (Evans) Blair and the late Nailon Blair, Jr. She was raised and educated in Syracuse and Buffalo, NY where she graduated from Lafayette High School. She furthered her studies by attending Millard Fillmore School of Nursing where she earned a Bachelor s degree in Nursing.
Nicole worked in her profession as a Registered Nurse at various hospital and health facilities for over 23 years. Above all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones. A very beloved and benevolent gal, she was blessed with a beautiful heart. She held a special sense of humor and delighted in making people laugh. Intelligent and intuitive, Nicole nurtured her quest for knowledge. She also had a knack in the kitchen she was a fabulous cook and could prepare anything! Among her delicacies were Mac n Cheese, chicken, and delicious casseroles. She also enjoyed canning fresh vegetables harvested from her garden. Her green thumb also boasted a bounty of blooming flowers in her backyard. She took pleasure in traveling, sightseeing, and always learning. Nicole lived her spiritual devotion to her faith, and her special relationship with her God.
Nicole is survived by her mother, Dorothy Mae Blair; her grandmother, Juanita Monroe; her sisters, Juanita (Monroe) Champagne, and her late husband Reginald Champagne, and Sherkira Russell (Daquan McCrae); and her brothers, Nailon P. Blair III, Gerald L. Monroe (Edward Pena), Gregory A. Blair, and his wife Zuri (Mosley) Blair, and Tyrone Monroe. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles; special friend, Ken Grier; a host of many true friends; and her loving canine companion Major . She is predeceased by her aunts and uncles: Sam Evans Sr., Sandy Evans, Ransom Evans Jr. (Mae Helen), Edward Stevens, Sue Ann (Evans) Stevens, Albert Chuckie Monroe (Kathy), Michael Blair (Mary) Wanda (Blair) Grimes (Joseph), Patrick Blair, and Pamela (Blair) Austin. Cousins: Laverne Harrison, Corey Carr, Marcus Grimes, Raheim Blair, Sheila Shelton (David) and Veronica Evans.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Nicole s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 upon conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
