Nicolo "Nick" Gianquinto, 85, of West Haven, died on April 8, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born in Trapani, Sicily on November 29, 1936, a son of the late Pietro and Maria (Marino) Gianquinto. Ever the talented builder, Nick's career was spent as a construction foreman for the Apple Oil Company, as well as Custom Home Developers. His steadfast talent and passion for craftsmanship remain a lasting gift to his family, as he built the home for each of his children when they married. An overall sports enthusiast, Nick's favored pastime included watching the New Haven minor league hockey games with his friend Rocky Malerba, and he particularly enjoyed attending his grandchildren's chosen sport, whether softball, baseball, or gymnastics. Nick waged a valiant fight until the very end, he will remain forever missed by all those who knew him.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, April 11th, from four to seven o'clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, ten o'clock, at Church of Our Lady of Assumption, with a procession departing the funeral home at 9:30am.
